Course 860 Bluetooth Low Energy – Technology, Trends and Applications

Mr. Naresh Gupta, Author – Inside Bluetooth Low Energy, is the instructor for this 5-day course in Bluetooth Low Energy. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) was introduced in the 4.0 version of the Bluetooth specification in 2010 as a low power enhancement to the Bluetooth technology. Since then, it has grown by leaps and bounds and found applications in diverse areas including wearables, medical equipment, retail, location tracking, agriculture, smart tags, mesh, safety and security systems, and home automation systems. Bluetooth LE continues to expand at a tremendous rate of 26% CAGR and it is expected that 7.5 Billion LE devices will ship from 2020-2024. The major objective of this course is to make the participants familiar and experienced with the technical details of the protocol stack, profiles, latest trends, and applications. It will include hands-on sessions where the participants will look at the sniffer logs to get familiar with the internals of the technology and build some BLE based applications to get a first-hand feel of the power of the technology. A lot of examples will be discussed so that the concepts can be correlated to real world applications.

COURSE CONTENT

The major objective of the course is to make the participants familiar and experienced with Bluetooth Low Energy technology and applications. It will provide an in-depth view of the evolution, latest trends, practical use cases, and limitations of the technology. Practical sessions will form a strong backbone of the course, complemented by several tutorial lectures.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The course is aimed at software and hardware engineers, architects, and engineering and business managers. Prior knowledge of Bluetooth or wireless technologies is neither assumed nor required to take this course.

For software and hardware engineers, and architects, this course will help them understand the “what” and “how” part of the technology including architecture of the protocol stack and profiles, how these come together to realize real world use cases, and how applications can be built in a fast, efficient, and seamless manner.

For engineering and business managers, this course will help them to understand the “why” and “so what” part. It will help them understand what would be the parameters that will drive their choice of technology and will it solve the business problems that they are trying to address in an efficient, scalable and future-proof manner.
